Ken Block, co-founder of DC Shoes, has always been known for performing some gnarly stunts behind the wheel of both his souped-up Subaru Impreza WRX STi and new Ford Fiesta. But before he released his series of record-breaking infomercials, had anyone ever heard of the sport “Gymkhana?”

According to Block’s videos, gymkhana is “an automotive sport that takes place on an open field or parking lot and requires drivers to skillfully maneuver their cars around a series of cones, slaloms, 180 degree turns, 360 degree turns, figure-eight turns or other obstacles using extreme acceleration, braking, and drifting.” Block originally designed his cars for a gymkhana racing series which ended up falling through. So instead, he decided to have a little fun with the cars anyway…and the DC Gymkhana Project was born.

The fourth video in the Gymkhana Project series became the most shared viral ad of 2011.  Take a look as Ken Block maneuvers the back lots of Hollywood’s Universal Studios as only he can!  Then check out the infographic below, provided by DC Shoes, detailing the life and times of The Gymkhana Project. How do his real-life stunt moves compare to those of these Hollywood movie drivers?
